GigaStudio: Updating Tips
If it ain't broke... don't upgrade?
It is generally a good idea to upgrade to the latest version of Tascam's GigaStudio or GVI, especially if you are experiencing problems related to the application or related drivers.
However, some users have reported new problems occurring after installing a GigaStudio "patch". Take a look at the release notes, and see if the reported fixes are likely to apply to you:

For example, I am running GigaStudio v3.20 on a stable Element system from Rain Recording. Everything works fine, and I couldn't be happier. I have not installed the v3.21 patch, nor do I plan to, as the application enhancements would not apply to how I use this system.
GigaStudio's install DVD includes a utility called "GigaClean" for doing a thorough uninstall of GigaStudio. GigaClean is especially handy if you want to go back a version, say from GigaStudio v3.21 to v3.10. Here's how to use it:
Uninstall GIGAStudio
Using the Start Menu, select Programs -> Tascam -> GigaStudio 3 -> Uninstall
GigaStudio 3.0
