Windows Product Key and Activation

Microsoft uses a form of copy protection which combines the use of a Product Key and something they call Activation.

Windows will ask you to accept a license agreement for the usage of Windows XP and enter your Product Key. The Product Key is found on a Microsoft sticker on the inside of the drive bay door panel on the front of the Element on a and consists of 5 sets of 5 characters. Enter these characters carefully using the keyboard. When entering the Product Key some keys on the keyboard are disabled, so if you read the characters incorrectly you may find yourself unable to enter the character you wish. If this happens look again at the Product Key because you have probably confused a "P" with a "9" or a "6î" with a "G" easy to do, but if the keyboard doesnít let you enter a character itís a sure sign that itís wrong.

Windows Activation

This is purely a copy protection process and takes no personal details and requires no internet connection ñ although thatís the easiest way to do it. You can Activate over the phone or the internet, simply follow the instructions in Windows. You do not need to Activate Windows immediately, we recommend leaving Activation for now until you are sure the system is working correctly, you get 30 days to complete the process.
